Tempus Anima Rei

2012

Mixed Media, Huckleberry Anthotypes, Time

In Tempus Anima Rei I worked with found and altered objects to create an installation. The piece includes an altar incorporating archaic photographic prints called "anthotypes" using plant pigments to create portraits of my partners, myself, and their son. Due to the ephemeral nature of these anthotypes the images will dispel over time when exposed to light, eventually fading away completely. An accompanying piece installed in the same room displays an antique clock and a self-portrait, gazing down, hung above it. Tempus Anima Rei speaks of the elements of time, distance, and ritual in this relationship.
